Dancer's pedigree

Aksum Tiny Dancer is the second generation queen in our TICA chocolate breeding program. She became a Double Grand Champion at the Cattyshack show in September 2011. We are so proud of her!

Her beautiful mother Candy is the second chocolate Abyssinian ever to become a Quad Grand Champion and Regional Winner. Candy is the 2009 TICA's International Best Chocolate Abyssinian and 2009 ACCA's 4th Best Abyssinian in the U.S.

Dancer's sweet-natured father, Traveler, is a Double Grand Champion.

We hoped for a chocolate female in Candy's first litter of kittens who would have an exceptional personality and nice color and type, and we have it with this beautiful girl! She is outgoing and affectionate and purrs a lot. Dancer is unafraid and curious about her world. She also travels well, which is very helpful for a show cat. And of course, she loves to play!

All of this makes her my forever kitty. As breeders who are working to improve the breed and are always moving forward on that quest, we can't and don't keep most of the cats that are used in our breeding programs. They are offered as retired breeders relatively young to carefully selected homes for a lot less than kittens cost. However, Dancer will always have a loving home here before, during and after her contribution to the breed.

Pick me! she seemed to be saying.
Beautiful little kitten!
Always playful!
...and often found sitting in my lap! :-)

I remember well getting to know her in the first couple weeks of her life. I was quite taken with her personality, and at first I decided she was a cinnamon which I couldn't keep for the breeding program, and thought somebody would be really lucky to get her as a companion pet. When I realized she was really a chocolate (the biggest clue, her tail tip, changed color), I said, "Wow! It's me!! I'm the lucky one!"

And so we have been bonded as best buddies from the beginning. She joins me on any trip where it will be safe and comfortable for her to come along, such as transporting a rescue, a trip to the pet store for food, supplies, or toys, to visit my parents an hour and a half away, or to pick up one of our sons from school.

Dancer's first litter of kittens by Temur on April 14, 2010 was a rainbow litter full of fun (cinnamon, chocolate, lilac)! Her second litter of kittens with Linc (chocolate, cinnamon) was born on September 22, 2010. Dancer had her third litter of kittens by Rocket on May 11, 2011 (two cinnamons). Her fourth litter of kittens with VLane on November 12, 2011 produced one ruddy male kitten. Her fifth litter of kittens (lilac male, chocolate girl) was with Leo on March 4, 2012. Her sixth and last litter of kittens with Kopper was born November 12, 2012. She will be retired and stay here with me as my Forever Girl.
