Jaxx's Pedigree

Fenix Basement Jaxx was our second CFA registered stud male and was a very nice outcross for our lines. Thanks so much to Karen Vance of Cedarwood Abyssinians for allowing us to co-own him with Blue River Abys, and for making it possible for him to come here from Siberia, Russia. Thanks also to his breeders, Katerina Chetenova and Katerina Samokhina of Fenix Abyssinians!

Jaxx is a TICA International Winner (see page 8 of the link - Jaxx was 18th Best Allbreed Championship Cat) and is also a Lifetime Achievement Award Winner! We are so proud of this beautiful sweet boy! Jaxx has now been sent back to live with his original owner, as promised, and is still siring beautiful, healthy kittens.

Jaxx has been tested for color, blood type, and genetic diseases (PRA & PKDef) using UC Davis Laboratory. He is homozygous ruddy and does not carry dilute. He is a carrier of PKDef and is negative for PRA.

Jaxx's sons sent to other breeders as stud cats, Titan and Hazel, are negative for PKDef and PRA. As breeders, it is important for us to continue using outcrosses that are representative of healthy lines, even if they carry a genetic disease. Rather, the disease is bred out of the lines as the other desirable attributes of the cat is kept. As long as the cat is not bred to another carrier of that disease, the kittens will never have any symptoms.

Jaxx has been shown by Aksum and Blue River Abys and was our main stud male while he was here. After he won the titles of International Winner and Lifetime Achievement Award Winner, he returned to Cedarwood Abyssinians as one of their stud cats until he retires. He is a very sweet natured, affectionate boy and has sired several healthy kittens, including our newest stud boy, Bo (Anygma Turn The Page of Aksum) .
