ATLANTA ABYSSINIAN RESCUE Email: rescues@abyssinians.us Phone: 678-521-5833 Petfinder Home Page: http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/GA636.html Here's some good advice for introducing an adult cat to your other cats. Atlanta, GA - NEW LISTING! ADOPTION PENDING Atlanta, Georgia - ADOPTED! He needs socializing especially in new situations but really wants to be friendly and affectionate. Vetting is complete - he tested FeLv/FIV negative and heartworms negative and has his rabies vaccination. He will be neutered on Tuesday, July 27th. Owner's daughter is allergic to cats, so they had to give him up. He is probably not an ideal candidate for a home with very young children or more than one or two other cats already in the home. Baby's Irritable Bowel is still with her (she throws up occasionally) despite TLC and a special diet, so we may be taking her back if the new owner needs our help directly to find out the magic cure so she can have a long term solution (probably 1/4 Pepcid AC half hour before eating and twice weekly B12 shots). Baby gets along with other cats and everybody she meets especially children and is very affectionate. Baby - 10 yr old ruddy female
Baby is a small 10 year old female ruddy Abyssinian, spayed and front declawed. She was given to Aby Rescue instead of euthanizing her because she was throwing up regularly and occasionally missing the litter box. Many thanks to the former owner who decided to give her up rather than putting her down. She was observed carefully for over a week and never missed the litter box. She had no problems keeping her food down while she was here. Since she is being fed a grain-free high protein food now ("Innova Evo" dry food switched to "Taste of the Wild" dry food which she does even better on), she probably has a food allergy to grains, like many cats do. However, she continues to have an occasional problem with throwing up, so if the new owner needs our help directly we will take her back to find a long term solution for this wonderful, sweet girl.
She is FeLv/FIV negative and her health checkup with the vet May 1, 2009 showed her heart, lungs and teeth and overall health in very good condition, no problems mentioned. Her vaccinations are all up to date (FVRCP and rabies). Her fecal test was negative. She was a little underweight at 5.1 pounds, probably due to the food allergy. Full vet records are with her. Except for occasionally not being able to keep her food down, she is very healthy, and is extremely sweet and affectionate with everyone she meets. She is calm and loves children. She's good with other pets, and is a beautiful little Aby!
